A Tiny Tots’ shop has been opened in the bar of the old Royal Hotel.

A Triumph de Luxe motor cycle, which is on view at J. D. Ward’s Produce Store, has been the admiration of all who have seen the latest model.

The question of the sale of liquor in the Federal capital territory is to be referred to a local option poll of the people residing at Canberra. The sale of liquor at Parliament House will not be permitted until the poll is taken.

Whilst cranking up Mr. P. J. Mylott’s Ford lorry on Friday of last week, Master W. Constable had the misfortune to fracture a bone in his wrist through the engine backfiring.

A ten-year-old daughter of Mr. B. McCauley, of Nelligen, was admitted to the Moruya hospital in a serious state, and successfully operated on for appendicitis by Drs. Street and McCredie. The patient is now doing well.

A serious motor collision occurred near Tilba on Friday, Dr. Lister in a Morris-Cowley, colliding with a Dodge car containing a party of tourists on the way from Melbourne to Sydney. Both cars were badly damaged, but the occupant’s escaped injury.

A grand ball was held in the Turlinjah Hall on Friday of last week in aid of the candidate, Miss Muriel Berriman, for the Church of England Queen Competition. The Hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion by the Misses H. Sly, E. Walsh, E. Berriman and Violet Cantlay. The organisers were very pleased to see so many people attend and thoroughly enjoy themselves.

Mr. G. Warren, maintenance man on the Nerrigundah Road, met with a severe accident whilst driving to work in a cart yesterday at the dangerous elbow in the road between Wilson’s and O’Toole’s where there have been a number of previous accidents. Mr. Warren was picked up by Mr. O’Toole in a dazed state and could not give any account of what had happened.

He was much bruised and cut about, and the horse and cart were over the embankment in the gully about fifteen feet below. Mr. Warren was taken home by Mr. W. Jessop, who was driving the mail conveyanceIt is time the council did something to make this part of the road safe. The road is only twelve feet wide and a straight drop over the embankment of from ten to thirty feet. This should be fenced and a culvert put across the gully to cut off the bend.
