Mr. and Mrs. J. Lynch’s nine-year-old son is suffering severely through rheumatics in his legs. The poor little fellow was an inmate of the local hospital for a few days.

We remember in the early days of the North Shore bridge agitation that our old friend, George Gordon, was absolutely the first in the field advocating the worth of the Moruya granite for its construction. Now he and his partner, J. C. Edwards, are in the field with a commercial paint manufactured from the red oxide obtained from the old Silver Mine field. Experiments have been so carefully carried out that the General is determined that he will not rest until the bridge when completed will carry a paint, the product of Moruya.
The annual Golf Tournament of the Far South Coast and Tablelands Association will take place on Bateman’s Bay links at the weekend. The course is in good order, and some good golf is expected.
It is encouraging to see the lights of the dredge, which is making marked progress up the river channel, so close to town. It is surely the precursor that the steamer will very soon berth at the town wharf.
The death of Mrs. Margaret Bishop, of Gundary, removes another of the fine old pioneer women of the district. Born in Nelligen 76 years ago, she was the last of the family of the late Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Donovan. After her marriage with Mr. John Bishop, who predeceased her 26 years ago, she went on to reside on their Glenduart property, where she reared a highly respected family of three sons and three daughters. After the death of her husband, and with the assistance of her sons, Mrs. Bishop successfully carried out their dairying and farming business until four years ago, when she went to live in retirement at Gundary. Left to mourn her are her sorrowing family, Mesdames P. Hoolahan, H. McIntosh, J. Lynch, and Messrs. Victor, Gregory, and Jack Bishop.
Respected Nerrigundah townsman, Mr. W. Grogan, while cutting a sapling had the misfortune to have his leg broken. When falling, the tree caught in another, which caused it to swing off the stump on to Mr. Grogan’s leg. The sufferer was for over an hour coo-eeing before he could make anyone hear and come to his assistance. He was carried home and afterwards taken to Moruya hospital. Latest reports are that he is progressing favourably.
