Moruya Library — Saturday 8 May, 2pm
Guest Speaker: Nathaniel Traynor
History student, University of Wollongong
Nathaniel Traynor will explore stories of survival and loss on the Thai–Burma Railway, drawing on the experiences of Moruya prisoners of war during World War II.
Through letters, records, and historical research, Traynor brings to light the human stories behind this infamous chapter of history—stories of endurance in the face of extreme hardship, the bonds formed between men, and the lasting impact of trauma and loss on individuals, families, and communities. This powerful presentation offers both a local perspective and a broader reflection on wartime experience, memory, and legacy.
