EVERY elector should record their vote today.

REID Bros., of Eurobodalla, are advertising for a puller-out for their sawmill.

TAILORING – T. D. Pritchard, merchant tailor of 67 Market St. Sydney will be at McKeon’s Hotel on 10th, 12th and 13th inst.

PIANO TUNING – Mr. A. E. Price, the well-known piano tuner hopes to be at Carden’s Hotel about the middle of the present month.

PISCATORIAL – A few disciples of Isaac Walton motored out a few miles in Mr. Weatherby’s speedy little launch on Monday and hooked 27 schnapper, as well as numerous other fish.

HOSPITAL SOCIAL – A social in aid of Moruya Hospital in Coila Hall on Wednesday night next. Miss Muriel Brown is again to the fore with her charitable work, acting as secretary to the function.

METHODIST – In the Methodist Church on Sunday evening the subject will be “Quit ye like men be strong,” with special reference to the stirring events of the past week, especially the sad end of Lord Kitchener.

MEMORIAL SERVICE – At St. John’s Church on Wednesday night next at 7.30 a memorial service for Lord Kitchener will be held, synchronising with the service held in St. Paul’s, London.

MOTOR GARAGE – By advertisement in this issue it will be seen that Messrs. Dave Page and F. (Ted) Riley have opened a motor garage in Moruya where they purpose executing all kinds of repairs in connection with the trade. The new firm will also keep on hand cars for special hire to any part of the State, day or night. Read the advertisement.

PERSONAL AND OTHERWISE –

– A flagstaff has recently been erected in St. John’s grounds and is the gift of Mr. G. H. James.
– Mr. “Jim” Wilton’s brother who is a gunner in the Field Artillery, is at present in the firing line in France.
– Gunner Reg. Greig, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. John Greig of Bingie, sailed for a destination unknown on 11th ult.
– Mr. A. L. Jeffrey, of Summer Hill, will have shortly 20,000 bricks at the Yarragee kiln burnt and ready for market, orders for which he is receiving daily.

PICTURE SHOW – Mr. Hooper of the “Arcadian Electric Pictures”, screened an excellent collection of pictures in the Mechanic’s Hall on Saturday night last. “Fatty’s Plucky Pup” created intense amusement and “The Burglar and the Lady” steamed with sensationalism. Before the last picture was screened Mr. Hooper expressed his disappointment at the paucity of attendance, and announced that if the public did not attend in greater numbers he would only be prepared to show once a fortnight as the films he screened were the very best and most expensive. Last week Mr. Hooper omitted advertising his show in the “Examiner,” which probably accounted for the unsatisfactory attendance.

TOWN TALK

– That everyone should record his or her vote today on the Referendum, which is to fix the hour of closing hotel bars; and
– That the hours of voting are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.- That electors should not make a cross to indicate their vote on the liquor referendum, but should put the numbers 1, 2 and 3 opposite the hours in order of preference
– That the hours of voting are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
– That our Shire President, Mr. T. Flood, and his good lady, returned from a holiday trip to Sydney, extending about a month, greatly improved in health.
– That Mr. Thomas, manager of the British Piano Depot, gave the attendants at the Bishop’s reception of Friday night a most delightful musical treat on the pianoforte.
– That His Lordship, Bishop Radford, completely won the hearts of his various audiences in Moruya.
– That the good work that is being done for the Grand old Church of England by the Rev. Mr. Rix was fully demonstrated on Sunday night is St. John’s, when no less than 87 candidates presented themselves to the Bishop for confirmation.
– That in his parish the Rev. Mr. Rix has prepared a grand total of 147 confirmees.
