OUR PUBLIC BATHS – Now that our public baths have been completed and rules drawn up for their management, it is to be sincerely hoped that the bathers will see that such rules are strictly observed. No mixed bathing on any account to be permitted. The Inspector would do a kindly act by keeping a keen lookout to see that the hours are strictly observed and have anyone breaking them expelled or brought before the Court.

OPERATION – Mr. R. Cantlay returned by boat yesterday after successfully undergoing an operation in Sydney.
SERIOUS ILLNESS – Universal sorrow is expressed throughout the district at the sad news of the almost hopeless condition of Mr. “Harry” Burns in Prince Alfred’s Hospital. The worst is hourly expected.
HOSPITAL – It is really a pleasure to pay a visit to the Moruya Cottage Hospital, everything being kept so clean and inviting by the popular matron, Mrs. F. Constable and her cheery maid, Miss Elsie Brown. During the past few months the Matron had a very anxious and wearying tim of it owing to the serious nature of several cases over which she had supervision. Last Saturday the lad named Kenneth Kimpton, who had his hand amputated in the hospital, was discharged, the wound having healed in a short space of time. The only patient in hospital at the present time is little Miss Olive Denny , of Bodalla, who a few weeks ago was terribly burnt of the back and thighs though her clothes becoming ignited while standing with her back to a fire.
NERRIGUNDAH – (From our Correspondent). Bush fires have been raging around the ranges for the past week but have done more good than harm from the miner’s point of view by clearing the scrub and leaving the hills open for prospecting.
Some of the claims are ready to crush but are unable to get teams to draw the stone as farmers are getting their crops in. Motby Bros. and Noble have about 25 tons ready for carting, which should yield about 3 oz per ton. W. W. Motby and McGill have about 10 tons also about 1 oz stuff.
What has become of the Nerrigundah Rifle Club? Only one went to the war. Have the rest lost all their energy?
