016/007 Women’s hat. Navy blue velour with wide brim. Only trim is navy and beige grosgrain ribbon band with pleated tab on back and beige coloured display of feathers on front left.No label or lining trim of any kind.
016/028 – Men’s cap. Fawn. worsted., twwedwelted. Covered button on peak of crown. The crown is stitched down at the middle of the peak to give a slouched look.Crested label inside crown ‘Superior to Any/Equal To Any’. The name of owner is handwritten inside – Danny Masters
Woven straw hat. Orange, From the Leila Campbell estate
Men’s brown felt ( rabbit) fedora-style hat. Italian made by ‘Borsalino;.
Men’s Opera Hat. A collapsible top hat. Purchase in Harrod’s London in 1920 by Mr Leigh Bannister.
Women’s hat. Black straw, flat crown with very wide, flat, stiff gauze molded brim. Wire mold the hat and keeps the brim in shape, two wire claws on the side also help to keep the hat in place on the head. Hat decorated on top left with 1 black/brown organdie rose and 1 pink organdie rose with leaves attached. Pearl hat pin attached and would be needed to also help keep hat in place as it is very shallow with wide brim. No label, black silk lining in crown.
016/017 Women’s hat. Pale pink woven satin toque edged in small matching pink flowers under matching pink fascinator lace. Large pink, flat, satin bow at back of hat. Lined with satin lining material and labeled “The TLB Hat”.
Women’s felt hat in emerald green “styled by Michele” on label at back. Flatish style, with shallow crown wider brim. Well stitched matching band with bow at front and front of brim covered with matching emerald green feathers
Woman’s hat. Grey velour wide-brimmed winter hat with matching grosgrain ribbon hat band
Men’s Bowler Hat. Purchased from Farmers for Mr Ernest Newton in 1938
016/008 Women’s hat. Black felt with medium high crown and wide brim. Brim is wider at the front than the back and has 4 rows of stitching to make it stiff, turned up and edged with black grosgrain ribbon. The hat band is black satin and black velvet ruched together at front and attached with black felt strip with a small felt bow on right hand side. There is no label but there is a wide black satin ribbon underneath attached to black hat elastic ties on each side. A large velvet bow hangs under hat on the ribbon to the left hand side.
016/022 Women’s hat. Royal blue felted toque with molded crown and draped look molded brim wider at the front. Blue felt knotted bow edged with small white beads decorates the left centre of the brim at the front. Label reads “Irene Wiener Original Model” . No lining just black grosgrain lining trim.
016/xxx – Black velour lady’s winter hat with a medium brim that is narrower at the back.Brim is bound with caramel coloured grosgrain ribbon.Matching caramel grosgrain ribbon.
016/004 Men’s ornate smoking hat. Obviously made as a costume as it has a cardboard base. Black cotton covered with embroidered flowers berries and leaves in yellow, red, green and brown. On top of crown is an ornate covered button that attaches a yellow and claret coloured silk tassle that hangs down the hat below the crown.
