Moruya Pony Races. OFFICIALS: President, Mr. G. Constable; Judge, Mr. W. Ryan; Starter, Mr. R. Spinks; Clerk of Scales, Mr. A. Louttit; Handicappers, Messrs. G. Constable and R. Whittaker; Secretary, Mr. J. Hansen. Through the heavy showers which fell on Tuesday night making the already soft track unsafe to race on, the Pony Club was compelled to postpone its annual meeting until Thursday. … On Thursday morning the sun shone out bright and warm, thus enticing the sports to again wend their way to our picturesque Park to participate in another day’s good racing. The racing throughout was exceptionally good, the events being well contested and interesting.

Mr Roche’s announcement in the Cobargo Chronicle 13 Sept 1924

Tilba. (From our Correspondent) – We have had a grand summer and now Tilba is looking its best. Since the New Year we have had a plentiful supply of rain, much to the pleasure of farmers, and the district is one mass of green; Last Saturday evening a very enjoyable euchre party and dance was held in the Temperance Hall in the interest of the Agricultural Society. Miss Spiers and Mr. W. E. Griffiths were successful in the euchre tournament; Through the efforts of the local Progress Committee a large sign board is being erected at the cross road to Cobargo and Bermagui, drawing the attention of travellers to magnificent Wallaga Lake.
