
The dredge Antleon arrived here from the Northern Rivers on Thursday, and has commenced operations at the entrance to our river.

The results of the examination held at St. Mary’s Convent in connection with the State Conservatorium of Music were very satisfactory and reflect great credit on the teachers and pupils. Mr. H. Demonstrator Campbell reports a great development in the Belimbla Creek gold mining show. … Extra men are put on this week, and it is hoped that 10 head will be ready for work by the middle of January, so that testing operations on a large scale may be carried on while the tunnel is being driven to its full length, viz, 800 feet. It is now at 465 feet, and is passing through a very promising formation carrying gold. The saw mill is in full swing ang the timber is being cut to complete the great battery buildings. All who are connected with the mine are confident that it will prove to be one of the greatest in Australia.
Mr. A. R. Luck having leased the Kiora farm occupied by the late Mr. J. Bartlett for 28 years, Mrs. Bartlett and family have moved into town, and now reside in the Emmott Estate cottage at the corner of Shore and John Streets.
