Complaints have been made about people travelling between Mogo and Bateman’s Bay at night without lights on their vehicles. This is an extremely dangerous practice, particularly as the motor traffic is rapidly increasing on the Prince’s Highway, and many travel after dark. The drivers of the daily motor services are, of course, ever on their guard, but strangers do not know of the danger ahead, and a serious fatality is predicted. The Ordinance relating to lights on vehicles reads as follows: – “A person shall not drive a vehicle of any kind whatsoever in any public place between sunset and sunrise without displaying a light or lights on the right-hand side of such vehicle. Every such light shall be of sufficient strength and so displayed as to constitute an effective warning to the drivers of other vehicles, and to be clearly visible at night at a minimum distance of 75 yards.”
